Post-doctoral Interns from the National Public Health Laboratory of Burkina Faso

A two week capacity building course on Quality Control of Herbal Medicine for candidates from Burkina Faso has been concluded at the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development(NIPRD), Abuja.

The training program,  which was declared open by the DG, /CEO of NIPRD,  Dr Obi Peter Adigwe took place from 2 to 13 September 2019.

Coordinated by Dr Gloria Ajoku of the Medicinal Chemistry and Quality Control, other departments that saw to the success of the program are those of Microbiology and Biotechnology, Pharmacology and Toxicology,  and Medicinal Plant Research and Traditional Medicine. Topics covered ranged from botanical identification, crude extraction, microscopic evaluation, chromatography fingerprints, microbial loading, heavy metal content to toxicity studies.
